The New Zealand crews (1939-1948)
He went on the Pamir at Wellington in 1944 (), at 20, as Able-Bodied seaman (AB), then in 1945 ( AB), in 1947 () as a Bosun and in 1949 () as an officer (Third Mate).
After the War, he sailed until he retired in 1986. He died in 1997. |
He told his adventure in a book published in 2003. |
